Zone-hour parking has been activated on Kote Abkhazi and adjacent streets since today. In connection with the launch of the pilot project, Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi together with Irakli Khmaladze, Vice President visited the information booth located on Kote Abkhazi Street, talked to the operators and received consultations.
According to the Mayor of Tbilisi, zone-hour parking will be activated on specific streets of other districts of Tbilisi in the coming months.
“Today a pilot zone-hour parking project has been launched, which is one of the major reforms of our transportation policy. Employees of Tbilisi Transport Company will be directly in charge of the new transport policy implemented on Kote Abkhazi Street. They will explain every detail to the citizens who want to stop their car here. Payment rules are simple. The phone app offers both payment and zone selection and 15-minute free parking. In addition, payment can also be made through the fast payment machines through which we pay our utilities.
Parking will be free for locals. They have to register their cars, and then they can park without any tax.
In the area of the pilot project, parking spaces are outlined where zone numbers are indicated. We have three zones - A, B and C. So far only the status of "A" zone is valid. At the next stage, the rest of the zones will be activated. ”- said Kakha Khaladze.
Together with the Mayor of Tbilisi, the Head of the City Transport Department Mamuka Mumladze, the Head of the City Economic Development Service Andrew Basilaia and the head of the Tbilisi Transport Company Giorgi Sharkov were present.
